After viewing the final presentation from the seventh graders, students will develop a deep connection with Joan as they learn more about her school and her classmates in the introduction to the unit. This standards-rich unit offers students the opportunity to research a country of their choice and compare it to the geography, civics, and economics of the United States. As a final project, students will meet financial literacy standards by developing a fundraising proposal to help Joan and her classmates and make a true difference in the global community.
